There are seasonal items such as the snow shovel in summer or shorts in winter that we simply don’t need at these times – unless you’re going on vacation, of course. These are just two examples of many. Seasonal items are plentiful, and many people don’t know what to do with them for the rest of the year.
This is a big problem, especially for people who have a smaller apartment and don’t have a large cellar or converted attic. Basements in Vienna usually don’t offer the largest and driest storage space. You know that situation where the boxes are piling up in the hallway or bedroom and you’re desperately looking for a solution until you convince yourself that it doesn’t look that bad?
Believe us, you’re not alone with this problem. But there is a solution that will save you from seasonal space wasters in winter, spring, summer and fall: self-storage.
Now we’re finally giving you the helpful tips you probably didn’t know about storing seasonal items. And if you do, just ask us for more tips. We’ll also show you why we’re the ideal place to store your seasonal items.
You can store these seasonal items
If you decide to store your seasonal items and use a warehouse, you’re making the right choice. But which typical seasonal items are actually stored?
For example, do you have your own garden with a patio? Then you have typical seasonal items. To prevent your expensive rattan garden furniture from being damaged by rain and wind, you should protect it from the cold seasons. Store the parasol or garden set after the last rays of sunshine at the latest. This time can vary greatly, but we would recommend the beginning of November as the latest time for seasonal storage.
If you work in the catering industry and run a beer garden or ice cream parlor, for example, you should do the same. Your patio furniture, beer benches or chairs should be stored at the beginning of the cold season. You simply don’t need this inventory in winter – after all, nobody goes to the beer garden in Vienna in December or gets an ice cream in the cold temperatures.
You can not only store garden furniture
Garden furniture is a good example, but there are many other items that you can store. You have various options and can decide which summer or winter items you want to prioritize for storage.
Our tip: make a list in advance and write down all the products you want to store as seasonal inventory. Outdoor catering furniture and garden furniture are very good examples of items that customers repeatedly put into storage with our self-storage service. But that’s by no means all of them. There are still many space-wasters that take up space in our homes.
Festive decorations don’t have to stay in your house or apartment all year round. Store your Christmas tree baubles and other Christmas decorations and only take them out again at the appropriate time of year – unless, like the supermarkets, you want to celebrate Christmas in September. The same applies to decorative items for Easter or the spooky costumes you wear for Halloween.
Seasonal camps: these are typical items
Our self-storage compartments are also suitable for storing the following typical seasonal items:
- Bathing products such as air mattresses
- Sports equipment for winter and summer sports (snowboards, skis, kite sets and many more)
- Building materials such as cement and other tools
- Barbecues and barbecue accessories
- and many others.
Typical industries for seasonal self-storage
Self-storage is used by various industries and no longer just by catering businesses. Clubs, event organizers and companies from the construction and gardening sectors also entrust us with their seasonal items. Even swimming pools store their seasonal inventory with us.
